Summary
The 'chorus effect' occurs when many sounds that are roughly the same length and pitch converge, adding a rich, shimmering quality to the layered audio. While such layering can be naturally occurring, such as within a choir, the effect can be artificially simulated with certain tools. The effect is more apparent with sustained notes.

Summary
A frown set itself on Kaz’s face. He took his sunglasses off, tossing them on the desk haphazardly. Then he tried to pull his underwear down to uncover himself, to free himself from the steadily growing tightness, and Ocelot swatted him away. He did not bother to stifle the whine that followed.
“Hurry it up, then.”
“All in due time.”
Kaz has had a rough day, so Ocelot takes it upon himself to help relieve some stress. But Ocelot is going so slow. For what?

Summary
Ocelot grunts, a tinge of annoyance crossing his face before he returns to the neutral look he had before. He easily takes hold of Kaz’s wrist again, squeezing so hard that Kaz can feel his nails through the leather. He holds Kaz’s face with his other hand, though his touch feels less warm now, more rough. Kaz is still flushed.
“Miller,” he warns, “I’m only going to fix your tie. Calm down.”
Kaz blinks. Looks down. Sure enough, his tie is fucked six ways to not even being a thing anymore. His blazer jacket is wrinkled to hell and back, too. He lets the tension in his shoulders go, keeping his gaze averted from Ocelot’s, which always seems to see too much.
Five times Kazuhira Miller thinks he's going crazy. One time he thinks Ocelot actually is.

Summary
He remembers the time he first shot a gun. His father had taken him to the side, explained the intricate inner workings of the gun he had brought out. Kaz had still been young, then, still green, but he remembers taking his father’s explanation to heart.
Kaz asks Ocelot to teach him how to shoot with his left-hand. Kaz regrets it.

Summary
Ocelot seemed to take some time to put his words in the right order before he spoke, and when he did, it was very careful and slow as if he didn't want to offend Kaz:
“Did you, possibly, think that it would be easier to have… someone else…” he didn't need to finish his sentence.
“I don't need you to play nurse with me,” Kaz bristled almost immediately, sobering up.

The medical team are only trying to look out for Kaz when they give him a hand-held vibrator. According to Ocelot, it helps reduce muscle atrophy, and will help kick some of the soreness out of his infernal leg. Kaz isn't convinced, he knows what these tools get used for, and he wants no part in it.
That is, until he has a particularly bad bout of phantom limb pain in the middle of the night...________________________

“I told you,” Ocelot’s voice was low. He stepped into Kaz’s personal space, standing between his knees. Kaz flinched into stillness and glared up at him, his vision pulsed with a white haze as regret seeped through him, “this is specialist training, Miller.”

The year is 1981, half way through the 9-year gap between Big Boss being comatose and Venom awakening. Kaz knows he needs to be prepared for the moment that Boss wakes up, and that means making sure he stays alive behind enemy lines, if he should ever find himself there. Based on this tumblr post that thought it would be amusing if Kaz and Ocelot had this rivalry thinking that they each got Big Boss, only to find later in their partnership that neither of them got him at all.
