Summary
Every prospective parent is nervous and full of doubt, but for Steve it is much more complicated than his abysmal childhood or simple inexperience. After an accident reveals a life-changing neurological condition, Steve is downright terrified that the challenges of his newly acquired diagnosis may not allow him to be an amazing father in all the ways that he had always envisioned himself being - and had so badly wanted to be. That it was too big of a mountain for him to climb. Thinking it best for everyone involved, Steve surrenders his dream of having children. But sometimes life has other plans, and shows you just exactly what you're capable of and how much you can overcome to make your dreams a reality.

Summary
Maybe Robin wasn't entirely wrong to worry about Steve getting sick from the bat bites. It may not have been rabies, but whether it was a coincidence or not, Steve definitely contracted a virus that attacked his heart. No longer able to manage it on his own or with the found family alone, he has to seek outside help.
Eddie has no prospects, and in a last desperate move before leaving Hawkins - and his uncle - behind forever, he answers an ad in the paper. Eddie never saw himself as a nursemaid, but somehow he became Steve's.
Loosely follows Season 4 canon, with the exception of Eddie lives and Max is fully recovered

Summary
The Squawk had become their cover, their communication hub, their war room. Robin did the actual broadcasts mostly playing music and reading pre-written community updates approved by the military presence in town, but the real purpose was the coded messages. Steve had helped her set up the whole system, spending hours figuring out how to get all the sound effects she wanted, taping things to walls and attempting to MacGyver random things around the station. That was just who Steve was, but looking around the room now, Robin wondered more and more if anyone else actually saw that.

But he left himself completely unguarded against his own body.

Summary
Steve didn’t want them to know. He didn't want them to know why he couldn’t drive them anymore, why he kept ditching them, why he was acting strange and dodging questions. But now he’s at the Byers for dinner and he can feel the aura. He can feel the seizure starting.
Or Steve has epilepsy after too many concussions and he hides it from his friends until he can’t hide it anymore.

Summary
"Give your mother some rest," Robin jokes, head sticking out of the kitchen. On a normal day, Steve would be able to take yet another mom joke, would've followed it with a laugh, or a snarky comment, or just a sigh. But he's in fucking pain right now and can’t find it in him to even pretend to put up a mask.
“Rob,” He croaks, voice coming out weak, feeble, a stark contrast from the bite that laced it earlier. The yellow light shining in the Henderson’s living room is a tad too bright, and Dustin and Erica’s fights, and Robin’s teasing, is a little too much right now, and the floor is swaying like he’s on a moving ship. Coloured spots dance around his vision, and his hands become all tingly, a feeling that then moves down to his shaky legs.
