Shane often wondered how he got here–him with spreadsheets of their children’s schedules and Ilya fussing over fabric swatches and obsessively hoarding rhinestones while actively engaging in petty fights with other figure skating parents.
Shane had plans.
Well, a resemblance of a plan. A rough expectation, perhaps.
It fell through spectacularly in 2025, and he blamed Yuzuru Hanyu, Yuna Kim, Ilya Rozanov and Yuna Hollander for everything. Not that Shane really minded though.
Shane enjoys this current phase of life with Ilya more than he ever imagined.
Even if he sometimes feels like he’s going insane.

Hongjoong raises his eyebrows in confusion at his husband's knowing and somewhat mischievous smile.So he turns to look at Woo, who's now looking sheepish –is that even possible for a 4 year old?– with his ears turning slightly pink. Wooyoung speaks quickly, in a whisper, and Hongjoong almost couldn't catch it. But he did.
No way he heard it right, right?
"What did you say, baby?"
"Igotakisstoday-"
Joong's eyes widen but he quickly regains composure. "Hmm? I'm sorry baby, Appa can’t hear you."
"I GOT A KISS TODAY!!!" Wooyoung shrieks, again, and promptly runs off as fast as he could with his tiny legs away from the kitchen, leaving Hongjoong confused, kneeling on the kitchen floor.
Kiss?
What?
Fuck.

Ilya Rozanov has three problems: 1) he’s an NHL superstar 2) he’s hopelessly in love with his supposed rival, and 3) apparently writing fanfiction about it has cursed him with biblically proportionate bad luck.
Between engine failures, fractured ankles, choking incidents, apartment floods, broken noses, fire alarms, and getting stuck in elevators, a reasonable person would stop writing.
Ilya Rozanov is not a reasonable person.
