Summary
Six years have passed since the death of the Mind Flayer. Nearly everyone has moved on from the events that shook Hawkins, moving on and out from their lives. Nearly.
Mike Wheeler, 22 and recently forced out of his parent's basement, has just moved into the dusty small town of Crystal, Nevada. According to his friends, he's there to write his next big story. But unbeknownst to everyone, Crystal was just a last minute crap-shoot. After a big fight with his parents, he took off for California, hoping to make it to Los Angeles. But when his old beater of a truck gives out after two days of driving, Mike has to decide between suffering in silence or swallowing his pride and calling for help from the one person he could always rely on.

Summary
“Is it Lucas? I could see why you would pick him,” Mike guesses, looking back to Will expectantly. Will’s heart rate picks up tenfold, beating under his ribcage almost painfully.
“What?! No, no it's not Lucas. Mike, what?” Will stumbles, shocked by Mike’s intensity.
“It’s Dustin?!” Mike says, a little too loud.
Or
Will comes out to Joyce and Mike. Mike finds out Will has a crush. He is mostly annoyed it isn't him.

Summary
“You are not well,” Salvador returns. “You are overflowing with…” he pauses to search for the word and he finds it, “grief. You’re grieving. It has hollowed you out.”
“I have nothing to grieve for.”
“You’re lying, Thomas.”

Summary
“It’s very nice to meet you,” said the erstwhile ice-cube. He had a warm, deep voice; unaffected by his long sleep as the rest of him. It really was spooky. Francis had looked up the daguerreotype: a rusted and pitted old thing, scanned into some museum’s system, taken nearly two centuries ago of a man who had hardly aged a day since.
—
Francis Crozier, a grumpy history professor, is assigned to introduce a recently unfrozen Victorian naval commander to the wonders of the modern era. Sparks fly, and all that.
