The Losers are supposed to take a nice trip to Hawkins, Indiana to go camping but things go haywire when another gate to the Upside Down is opened...
And another to the deadlights.
The two gates merge into one huge rip that the Hawkins crew and the Losers have to fix, without getting themselves killed.
