Summary
Her son is exuberant as always, his hands gesturing animatedly as he speaks, seemingly having forgotten the rest of the room already. It doesn’t look like Nicolo is doing any better, those blue eyes fixed steadily on Yusuf, pouring the entirety of his focus on her son. She herself is fixated on the sight before her, the way Yusuf doesn’t seem to realize how often his sentences include foreign words, how he absently reaches for another piece, breaks it in half despite there being more, and hands one over to Nicolo.
Oh.
Oh, They are in love.
Somewhere in the last eight years, between war and tragedy and great many differences, the two of them had fallen in love and Miriam is…astonished.
