She went first to the hives of Silence and requested from them their beeswax. Then she found where the clay men had hidden their newfound fire, and took from their hearth the smallest burning scrap, which she used to light a wick. As the wax melted down it, its layers dripped and hardened upon themselves, and when it lengthened into a shape she could carry in her arms, she the Night bent her head and kissed life into it. This became the infant she called Charon, half-melted and smoking Promethean fire with every breath.
At the end of this recounting, she tilted her head and asked politely, Is this not how you have children?

Summary
Ineffable, inevitable ferryman to the dead, Charon, is solitary in his existence. He has a singular purpose. Greet the dead. Take the coin. Ferry the dead. Repeat. There was no need for anything more.
A new god enters his life to help him guide the dead to their after life. Hermes, messenger to the gods, and the exact opposite of all Charon is, inserts himself into Charon's life and changes it completely.

Sleep lacked for nothing. He had a fulfilling job, a kind but strict boss, a soft bed waiting for him on his days off, at least one friend in the form of the realm’s rebellious prince, a friendly relationship with the realm’s most beautiful and commanding fury, and a brother who cared enough to visit once in a while. Realistically, he had everything he could ask for. Yet, as he thickened the lines of a bat he had just sketched into the decorative border he was constructing, his mind drifted to the last dream he had traveled in. The warmth of the fire and the loving gaze of the mother as she looked upon her sons.
He remembered the mortal mother’s eyes and his heart ached. He tried to imagine Thanatos laughing with him, but the image left him empty.
At the end of his shift a strange voice called out to him, beckoning him to the elder sigil in the back of the administrative chamber. Perhaps his extended family could help him find what was missing.

The hero Deku isn't doing much downtown when he's alerted to the fact that a known and infamous villain-come-vigilante is wreaking havoc near an abandoned office block. Avalanche is easily recognisable. Half a body covered in ice and a glowing red eye was the kind of memorable that Deku's support team would call 'merchandisable.'
Obviously, Deku's done his homework.
Otherwise known as that one villain au where we get flashbacks, rehabilitation and both physical and emotional hurt/comfort. No actual Bakugou's were harmed in the making of this story, just weird psychic projections.
