Summary
It’s not until 1973 that Charlie thinks it isn’t all a dream. Knox has his head in the toilet, there’s a groupie smoking in his connected room, and it hits Charlie all too suddenly that this isn’t what he wanted when he and Meeks decided drunkenly one night they’d start a band.
Or: a portrait of the first few years and final decisions about their band, Letters From The Fight.

"Who do you dream about?”
“Me?”
“Yeah.” He was trying to loosen his tie, but his limbs were too full of liquid. Gerard lent his own to undo it.
“I dream about you. The poets. Dragons and castles and flying in an airplane. War. Ruin. Ghosts and scary houses. You know that. I tell you about all of my dreams. Even the weird ones. And especially the scary ones.”
Or: Steven and Gerard have a sort of confession. Half of a confession? A quarter, perhaps. They'll sort it out in the morning.

Summary
Neil and Todd have been beating around the bush for too long. They said the words. Words that they'd never heard their parents say to each other, but words that were around them all their lives. They were monumental. Life changing. And with everything that happened after that winter, they need to talk about them.

Summary
He thinks that he wants to go to him, to pull him from the ground, to brush the bangs out of his eyes and kiss him right there in front of everybody. But if Chet had hit him for merely speaking to Chris and giving her a hug, and if he thought they were queer, kissing Knox could get them both killed.

Summary
Todd Anderson had been entirely exhausted as of late. His new apartment in New York City was so large that it felt empty. The emptiness of things had been following him like a leech for the past few years. Ever since he had graduated from Welton, his life hadn’t had a great, drastic change. He lived in a place by himself, worked by himself, and took himself to most places alone. It was a lonely existence. He didn’t even have a cat to share it with.
He had spent his senior year holed up in a room with a roommate he didn’t particularly like or know, some stiff who had admonished Mr. Keating’s teaching methods. Todd was silent; just sitting idly, biding his time until he could leave the restraints of the school for forever. Charlie had gone and got himself expelled, Neil had been sent away to military school, and Knox, Meeks, Pitts, and himself had spent the better half of the year trying to mend their broken hearts.
Or: Todd is having a grand party at his place to celebrate his writing accomplishments. His friends all come to visit, as does a new guest that Todd hasn't seen in a number of years.

Summary
The Dead Poets are NYC’s underground bar’s biggest joy. Or at least-that’s what they wish they were. They’ll get there! Pitts’ voice is just brilliant enough, and Todd is a good addition to the lot. (Meeks thinks they should have just hired him in the first place). Chris and Charlie love fighting with each other, so maybe Todd can finally get them to all get along!
Along the way, the band meets paths with another little group of artists, although they aren’t in a band. Romances begin between the poet and the actor, the filmmakers (Ginny likes French new wave just as much as Chris alright?), and Knox thinks God must be real if Charlie Dalton is real—and can play the drums!
The latter can’t believe they have to sit back and watch. It’s 1993! Why is everybody so worried about falling in love?

“I said your name instead of hers.”
Knox’s grip on his thighs tightened, and Charlie watched him as he stood up, the color from his face draining slowly.
“What would you go and do a thing like that for?” He asked, the sound quiet.
Or: a trip to the cabin doesn't quite go as expected for Charlie and Knox.

Summary
It's 1970 when Neil Perry has been gone for 11 years. It's also the winter of 1970 where he comes back into their lives, Charlie teaches everyone how amazing parenting can really be, Knox pines terribly for something so obtainable, and Meeks and Pitts are married (in their terms-never the government's). It's the winter where everything begins and nothing ever ends, and everybody finds their own place at home.

Summary
“So you had big plans then?” Charlie laughed, feeling that the smile on his face was too wide to even pretend to hide it.
“Neil was helping me with stuff. I got a little overzealous. I’ll ask you again. Properly,”
“You can ask me as many times as you want, Mr. Overstreet. I’ll always say yes.”
Or, Knox gets a little ahead of himself in the whole "ask Charlie to marry me" thing, but he can't regret it for the world.
