Sonic and Tails have been having issues lately regarding their partnership. Tails, for some reason, keeps making mistakes during their missions and can't keep his focus. He also has been encountering errors with his inventions at crucial times. Sonic is worried about Tails and his sudden inability to perform on their missions and ultimately decides to bench him with the possibility of reinstating him as the sidekick again later if he gets his act together. While moping, Tails crosses paths with Shadow. After talking for a bit, Shadow asks if Tails could fix his faulty jet boots for him. Tails takes the job, hoping to prove to himself and Sonic that he can once again focus and do his job like he used to. However, Shadow had other plans and sabotages the project without Tails' knowledge. What if Sonic found out about this and thinks Tails is getting worse?
