Perhaps he shouldn’t. They draw Yoongi’s gaze away from his lips to finally meet his own. It’s a searching look, one that feels a little too real, like he’s trying to figure out what Jungkook’s intentions are behind those words. Jungkook feels like he doesn’t even know himself. What they had was never spoken about; to say he misses it makes it a living, defined thing, something to be remembered. Something solid enough to feel the absence of.

Instead of watching and waiting, Yoongi stuffs his hands into his pockets to make sure he has the cigarettes he brought and stumbles up to the exit. He stands outside with a couple other smokers to stick a cigarette into his mouth, flicking his lighter a little helplessly until the flame ignites and burns the end of the stick. He breathes in for a deep first hit, letting it enter his lungs, aching, and blows out the excess in a slow motion.
It feels good.
He smokes the whole cigarette alone. He pulls out another one less than a minute later.
“Those’ll kill you hyung,” a distant voice calls over the warm breeze.

“hi, i’m jeongguk from the other day? your new neighbour?” and jeongguk is looking at him with something like insecurity flickering in his eyes, like there’s a possibility yoongi would forget someone like jeongguk—yoongi almost wants to laugh.
“uh—yeah, hi. how have you been?” he mumbles, rubbing the back of his neck. yoongi hopes he doesn’t sound as ridiculous as he thinks he does.
“good! i—um, made some food and just thought it would nice to bring you some. i hope it’s not weird or anything.” he sticks out his arms and holds the bowl in front of yoongi, silently asking him to take it and yoongi does, sparing a glance at jeongguk’s face only to see that he’s blushing, cheeks painted a pretty pink. yoongi’s stomach flips—jeongguk looks as nervous as yoongi feels, and that somehow scares him as much as it excites him.

Jeongguk hadn’t meant for it to end up as an obsession. It started because he liked vintage shirts, vintage band shirts to be exact. It didn’t matter if he knew the group or not, he just liked the look of them. He loved how soft they usually wore after years of washing and wearing. He loved how they felt on his skin. He loved the faded look, the dark black hue turning into light black, the lettering slightly frayed.
