He blinked rapidly, the pressure behind his eyes building. “And I know you don’t think like that. I know it’s not conditional for you, but… I haven’t unlearned it yet.”
“I don’t say it,” Riddle whispered, “because I don’t want to say it wrong. Or say it when I’m scared, or not sure, or trying to be someone I’m not.”
“I want to say it when I can’t not say it. When it’s real. When it feels like mine.”
