Summary
When Siffrin leaves for the House of Change in the dead of night, they do not come back, and their party is not able to bring them back. In his despair, what remained of him was the Sadness within him come to life, still a part of him, and with him still a part of it. It feels wrong to leave it. It follows like their grief made manifest, like Siffrin's ghost.
How does the party grapple with such a thing, all the while taking a journey to bring Bonnie back to their sister? How does a certain guide spectate but refuse to face those who ultimately share their grief?
And what does it mean, to have been born from nothing, and to try to define yourself in someone’s permanent shadow, never able to be human, yet not quite inhuman? When words don’t come easy, how are you supposed to know who you are?
