"Your Harrowing is tomorrow, isn't it?"
"Hm? Oh, that thing? I suppose it is." She cannot muster the energy to be as concerned about this as everyone wants her to be, even as the chantry maiden's fingertips clench gently around her skin.
"Are you truly so unbothered?" A scoff of indignation. "You could die, you know?"
"Either I fail and I die in the Fade or I succeed and spend the rest of my life locked away in a tower. Somehow both outcomes sound wholly unappealing to me."
--------
"Duncan's gone."
The way his voice trembles around those words makes her heart ache something fierce. She knows. She knows this agony. The agony of losing a loved one. And she knows there's nothing she can do to ease the pain. Nothing she can say that erases the loss. All she can do is stand beside him.
"The king... the Grey Wardens... they're all gone..."
All she can do is stand beside him as the world falls apart and hope the two of them will be enough to put it back together.
"I'm so sorry, Alistair. We'll get through this, somehow. I promise."

Skies, he's so fucking good like this, all hitchy, breathy, panting whines, fixated on the pleasure she's giving him. His mind occupied with nothing but her and this moment where he is unequivocally loved and cherished and fucked the way he ought to be.
"Pretty boy." She swallows up the way his body blushes at the words, how he squirms against her, flustered but begging for her to keep saying it. "My gorgeous, gorgeous boy. So good for me like this. Taking me so well."
"Sc-Scylla -" her name mewls out of his throat between strokes, between her relentless and unending praise, clutching her tighter and tighter the higher his release climbs. "F-Fuck… c-close… I'm so close."

Summary
Scylla Diander, Hero of Ferelden, Warden-Commander and once an advisor to the Independent Circle of Ferelden, attends the Conclave and leaves with a bitter, twisting feeling in her gut when the peace talks end in a stalemate. Compromise unwilling on either side.
It is on that same day, as she storms away from the halls of Andraste's Temple, that an old friend appears in her path. Leliana asks her to be the Inquisitior.
Her? The Inquisitor? How could she refuse?
And then something happens that shifts the tide of her trajectory.
-----
It is in the halls of Skyhold that Leliana, with her pained face and white knuckles, hands a document stamped with the seal of the Inquisition to Avery Nylund, Champion of Kirkwall and leader of the mage rebellion.
A document, penned in Scylla's own handwriting, that asks for Avery to take on the mantle of Inquisitor should the Calling take her before the goals of the Inquisition are brought to fruition.
Them...? The Inquisitior?
There's no room for them to refuse. Not now.
-----
Or, the tale of two mages, two dear friends - two Inquisitors.

Summary
Scylla had gotten used to Sten's sudden and direct proclamations over the months she'd spent with the qunari. She'd gotten even more used to rolling her eyes and ignoring his more judgemental statements but this one - this one gave her pause.
"Your lust is a distraction."
His eyes trailed her body, his stern, darkened gaze looking her up and down, curving over her hips, her breasts, lingering on her neck, the heat in his expression pulsing and almost tangible enough to touch and burn her fingers on.
"It is a distraction we cannot afford in our current mission. Come to me in one hour. I will see you sated."

Summary
Avery never could forget the screams. The blood spattered on the walls. Nor the templars that turned them away at the gates, locked them in and left them to die. They remember the chill of Lake Calenhad as them and four other mages plummeted into the water below. How their bones ached as they swam the length of it, the terror that gripped their heart as Claire, swollen with child, had clung to them weak and terrified.
When they made it to the other side they ran. Fought through droves of darkspawn, of hunger and exhaustion until at last they reached the boats north of Denerim that would take them to Kirkwall.
Now, all these months later, whilst adapting to life in the Free Marches, word comes to them that the blight is over.
But Avery's story is just beginning.
------
Or, the story of an enchanter that escaped Klinoch Hold during Uldred's uprising who not only lived to tell the tale, but would become the Champion of Kirkwall and leader of the mage rebellion.

Summary
Bailey looks back down at the man, spattered with crimson, eyes wide open in terror. He still has the top half of his head, miraculously, even if he was robbed of his life. They sigh, their heart heavy and hope he didn't have too many to leave behind. “I'll put it to good use, I promise.” They lean down and press his eyelids closed. “If you pray to any Gods, I hope they find you and keep you in good hands.”
Bailey wasn't a religious sort. Whatever they couldn't do with their own two hands they certainly wouldn't trust a God to do for them - but they respected those who valued the safety and guidance that came from worship.
“Hopefully they don't have anything in store for me, either.” Heaving a loud, long breath Bailey ventures forward, their shoes leaving tracks along the shoreline.
That was how it all would begin.
-----
A look into how an otherwise unseeming cook at the Blushing Mermaid gets mixed up in the affairs of Gods and their chosen. A chronicle of them finding friendship in unlikely places, falling in love with even unlikelier people and saving the world.
Covers the events of Act 1.

Summary
"You're welcome to take your time I just thought I might come keep you... warm." A feather light kiss placed to his neck and he groans. "If you'll have me?"
"There's seldom a time I wouldn't have you." His voice is thick and deep and the way he pleads for you with his eyes makes your knees weak.
"Then, would you mind if I made myself comfortable?" You swirl in front of him with a small flourish of your feet, heated gaze meeting his, drinking in the want on his face.
"Do as you please, sweet one."

They came careening into the castle garden like falling stars, like renegade comets. They scrambled like newborns. Weak as hours old fawns.
It was expected, of course, one doesn't just fall from grace unscathed.
To have ones body twisted and molded into a new shape - wings trading colors and shapes, disappearing altogether as new appendages took their place, piercing through skin in an unforgivable manner - is not a pleasant thing to go through.
You'd seen it before, of course. Humans damned to Hell for all eternity tended to take forms suitable of their neverending punishment or sometimes the form of small imps. But this... this was different.

Summary
You couldn't save them.
You couldn't stop this war either.
It didn't matter that you'd climbed your way to the top of the ladder, standing above even Solomon on the pyramid of the most powerful sorcerers to exist in today's age.
It didn't matter, for not even Solomon himself could stop a full scale civil war amongst Celestial beings.
But there was something you could do.
So there you stood,
Shaded underneath a pillar,
Standing at the precipice of the fall of the seven virtues, a millennia before you were born.
You couldn't save them.
But you could save her.

Summary
One thing became extremely clear to you within your first few weeks in the Devildom: if you were going to make it through this exchange program alive you needed to learn how to protect yourself.
Finding yourself short a self defense guide against demons and your only protection being an unhelpful bodyguard that wants nothing to do with you - you turn to magic.
You've never once casted a spell in your life but in this place where nearly anything can happen you think, shit, maybe you can learn a little magic and get yourself through the year.
Let's see how it goes.
A/N: This was originally supposed to be a five chapter precursor fic to another fic I was writing but I had so much fun exploring what might've happened if MC had harnessed their powers early on in their first year and how that might've effected things so now here's this. I hope you enjoy!

Summary
When Solomon pulled back, half lidded eyes peered into yours with a swirling pool of love and affection, lustful undertones reflecting just behind those feelings. "That was amazing, lovely."
You chuckled softly, gleeful in this calm, albeit sticky heat. "Thank you. You weren't too bad yourself, handsome."
Solomon chuckled back at you, pressing another kiss against your lips, light and fleeting, just to get another taste of you. "Good to see you're still in the mood to tease. I think our angel has quite earned his turn after all, don't you?"
-----
Six months ago you were dropped into the Devildom, placed into the dorms of Purgatory Hall by Diavolo's choice. Now, six months later, you were madly in love with and having intimate relations with two of your dorm mates, the actual Prince of Hell and his butler.
Amazing what can happen in six months, isn't it?
