Summary
"Oh, I would not give you false hope
On this strange and mournful day,
But the mother and child reunion
Is only a motion away."
--Paul Simon, "Mother and Child Reunion"Robby is kind to everyone.
Except Langdon.
He’s not kind to Langdon, and he’s made it very clear that Dana must not be kind to him, either. She doesn’t know how Robby said it to anyone else, but he told her to watch Langdon’s every move and report anything even vaguely suspicious to him, “sabbatical” or no. He had warned her to forget whatever relationship she and Langdon had before, to stop offering him Red Bulls or advice, to forget that she’d been the first to hug him after his children were born. She is to steer clear of him as much as possible: coldest of cold shoulders until Langdon completes his R4 and gets the fuck out of PTMC.

Summary
(It's the Fourth of July, and we all know what that means. This is my take on how S2 might pan out.)
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Robby’s three-month sabbatical was just twelve hours away, and he’d carefully planned to make his exit the day before Langdon returned, but the son of a bitch was coming back a day early, probably just to taunt him.
(I'm serious about the anitisemitism tag.)

Summary
Let it be known that Doctor Michael Robinavitch will fight anyone who says that pills caused Frank Langdon’s downfall. Not when Robby knows that, ultimately, all of this was his fault, to be shut into the mausoleum with the rest of his failures.

Summary
Jack Abbot vs. July 4th
Ninety minutes before his shift he walked into the ED at PTMC with what he hoped was enough swagger to convince everyone that he’s fine, really, no need to hover.

Summary
Two days after Pittfest, Cassie McKay gets a text from Robby asking for help.
“I know what he’s feeling right now. There’s fear, and also defiance because he knows he’s an addict but can’t make himself confess it because of pride, and, you know, just being Langdon. Then there’s the shame. Shit, Robby, the shame never completely leaves no matter if you’ve been sober for nine days or nine years.”
Robby nods at her as she speaks, grief-filled eyes above a minute smile he surely doesn’t feel. “That’s why I need—FRANK needs—your expertise.”

Summary
It wasn't an easy thing, treating Frank like he was himself, but it was needed. No one else seemed to be doing it very well, and Dana knew from seeing it happen to plenty other personnel that perception was the make or break thing after coming back from rehab. Something was wrong, though, and the only way to get it from him was some time and a strong arm. She had both.

Summary
There are three statements of life that Langdon knows as absolute fact:
1. Langdon is a straight man. Women are gorgeous, and he has a wife whom he loves very much.
2. The painkillers he uses from the Pitt aren’t the start of a bad habit. He’s not an addict—just a good son recovering from a back injury sustained moving some furniture.
3. His relationship with the medical field is mutualism. He saves countless lives, takes good care of people, but he benefits as well. It keeps his head too busy to think.Robby challenges all those assertions.
