Summary
It wasn't an easy thing, treating Frank like he was himself, but it was needed. No one else seemed to be doing it very well, and Dana knew from seeing it happen to plenty other personnel that perception was the make or break thing after coming back from rehab. Something was wrong, though, and the only way to get it from him was some time and a strong arm. She had both.

Summary
There are three statements of life that Langdon knows as absolute fact:
1. Langdon is a straight man. Women are gorgeous, and he has a wife whom he loves very much.
2. The painkillers he uses from the Pitt aren’t the start of a bad habit. He’s not an addict—just a good son recovering from a back injury sustained moving some furniture.
3. His relationship with the medical field is mutualism. He saves countless lives, takes good care of people, but he benefits as well. It keeps his head too busy to think.Robby challenges all those assertions.

Summary
"Everything is going to be fine, McKay."
He doesn't know that, of course. He has no possible way of knowing that. McKay is so tired at this point that she couldn't care less about professionalism when she finally snaps, "With all due respect, Dr. Abbot, that's pretty hard to believe coming from the guy sitting in jail next to me."

Summary
Be kind to yourself, Cassie says in his head, soft and gentle. But Frank can’t. There is no world in which he can be kind to a version of himself that hurts Robby, especially sober. He’s supposed to be better now; he’s spent ten months clawing his way back inch by inch to being a person instead of a loose collection of hurts and cravings and spikes that pierced anyone nearby. But it seems that the version of himself that can connect with Robby, see eye-to-eye with him, talk to him without feeling like a gut punch, died the day of Pittfest last year.

Summary
He gave them a few moments, but the second he raised his hand, the room fell silent. Robby took a breath, steady and slow. He had to choose his words carefully.
"It's been a hell of a night. I know some of you saw parts of what happened, and others are only hearing rumors. So let me clear it up." His jaw tightened for just a second before he continued. "At around 18:35 earlier today, an armed man entered the ED…”

Summary
Hoʻoponopono — a Hawaiian forgiveness ritual meaning “to make right” — is grounded in Indigenous Hawaiian traditions of reconciliation, communal healing, and restoring harmony within families and communities. Traditionally guided by a kahu (a priest or elder), the practice involved group discussion, confession, apology, mutual forgiveness, and prayer. It was meant to resolve interpersonal conflicts and cleanse the spiritual, emotional, and relational space between individuals
In its modern adaptation, Hoʻoponopono has become a personal mantra of healing and accountability, often distilled into four essential phrases: I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you. These words, simple but profound, are meant to acknowledge harm, seek forgiveness, express gratitude, and reaffirm love — offering a path toward reconciliation not just with others, but within the self.

Summary
There’s just a single text from Robby, timestamped at 4:43 am. I am using this weekend to decide how I want to handle the situation. I suggest you do the same. We will talk Monday, do not try to contact me until then. And leave Dana alone.
Langdon presses the phone against his forehead. It’s not good news, exactly, but it is a reprieve. No one’s going to come banging down his door and taking away his medical degree. At least not yet.

Summary
The thing about rehab is that people expect it to fix you. All of your problems? They’re gone now, hurray! You can go back to normal life now! Soberity’s your best friend now, good luck! If only it were that simple. Otherwise, Frank wouldn’t be dealing with the wall of distrust and judgement that sits between him and everyone else.
Life just loves to tell him that he can go fuck himself.
AKA: Langdon went to rehab. Here’s the aftermath of it.
