    Shane and Ilya haven’t spoken to each other since they broke up over a misunderstanding at the 2017 All-Stars game. Ilya was traded from Boston to LA and they both tried to move on. But, in December of 2019, when Ilya ends up on injury reserve, he decides to make an unannounced trip to Montreal. He could have never foreseen the global pandemic just around the corner of that decision, and as the world crumbles around them, they find themselves isolated at the cottage for the longest offseason of their lives.

What happens when the identity you built your life around becomes the thing you must let go of?     "Do you think there's something wrong with me?" Shane broke the silence, lifting his gaze slightly. Ilya frowned and shook his head no immediately. "Ilya... there has to be. These meltdowns or whatever they are aren't normal. I know that."

    "Not being 'normal' doesn't mean you have a problem, Shane," Ilya countered softly, resting his chin against his husband's temple, settling him even closer against his body.

    "I'm sorry..." Shane's voice came out small. His unfocused gaze wandered around the room while his fingers mechanically scratched under Anya's chin. She was now blinking slowly, surrendering to sleep.

    "For what?"

    "It's just..." Shane let out a shaky sigh. "You're the one with depression. I'm the one who should be taking care of you, not the other way around. Having these meltdowns..."
