Summary

Summary
The year is 2024-2025 and the Van Der Linde gang is a cult with Dutch Van Der Linde being its leader. Sadie Adler and Charles Smith are FBI agents, approached by one of the cult members with a deal - they will introduce Sadie and Charles, allow them to infiltrate the cult in exchange for immunity. “A wife?” Arthur narrows his eyes. “A woman?” Both men looking at each other, too sober, too painfully honest. "I don’t want that for you.”
“What do you want for me?” Charles thinks his voice must betray him.
“It’s selfish,” Arthur breathes.
“Tell me anyway.”
“Want you to stay with me. With us, I mean. Don’t want you to leave ever.”
Charles gets it now. Arthur loves him just not in the way Charles loves him back. Arthur loves him as a companion, a dearest friend. This is how men are supposed to love each other.
“Okay,” Charles says matter-of-factly, and pulls his shirt over his head. “I won’t leave ever. Let’s get some sleep.”:::::::
Charles has a bad night with a working girl. Arthur, secretly desperately in love with him, hears it all.
