Summary
Sand sighs and holds the cigarette out to Ray. It’s getting harder to pass it back and forth as it burns down. Less to hold on to. Another trade or two and he’s going to start having to choose between touching Ray’s hand and getting burned. Or he’s going to have to stop playing Ray’s stupid guess-Sand’s-side-hustles game.
Ray looks so happy that he got one right, though. It’s hard to look away from. Hard to imagine wearing your feelings on your face like that, where just anyone could see them.
Sand makes himself look away.
or: the author is still thinking about the delicious layers of “I’ll pay you to be my drinking buddy”

We’d need photographs, he thinks nonsensically. Quick, before it dries.
Dongsik looks up at him, his smile perched just at the corner of his mouth. “Try not to think so loud, Juwon-ah,” he says. “You’re off duty, you know?”

Pete must be getting complacent, because it takes him a few weeks to find the drugs.
He usually goes straight to the first aid kit in their room, not the bathroom cabinet. Maybe Vegas counted on that. Or maybe it’s just what’s normal, for Theerapanyakuls. Probably they all keep the incapacitating sedatives in the bathroom drawer next to the gauze and the antiseptic and the leftover painkillers from the hospital.
Maybe Pete’s not the best judge of normal. A normal person might ask what exactly are you going to tell Macau if he goes looking for an aspirin?
Pete? He swallows hard, and reminds himself how fucked up Porsche had been when they found him, and tries not to remember how giggly and handsy he’d been later on. Getting out of the car, clinging around Kinn’s neck, hands everywhere while Pete averted his eyes politely. It had been a completely fucked thing to do. Porsche didn’t want it, not really.
Porsche probably doesn’t want a lot of the things that Pete’s brain and gut and dick are extremely interested in.

Summary
I've been swearing for years that I will never write Nirvana in Fire fic because I'm not smart enough to write a plot for Mei Changsu. That's still true. But you know what I am? Absolutely easy enough to get baited into writing some short purely unnecessary nonsense for friends. And the short nonsense needed a home, so here we are. One or more of these could become real fics someday if the mood strikes, who knows? (Probably not the were-octopus. But never say never.)

Summary

“Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?”
“A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains.
Or: Wei Wuxian gets a cat, and then a boyfriend, both of which are a surprise.
