Falling into bed with Bradley Bradshaw hadn’t been on Jake’s bingo card after the uranium mission. Sure, he’d saved the guy’s life, but the two of them hadn’t exactly been buddy-buddy beforehand - after all, Jake hadn’t exactly been his best self with Bradley during mission training.
Even before the mission, Bradshaw had been nothing to Jake other than a mildly annoying blip on his radar. Jake had honestly all but forgotten about Bradshaw’s existence until he had sauntered into the Hard Deck three weeks ago, looking far more attractive than he had any right to in that stupid shirt.
This is the story of how Bradley wins him over with food, friendship, and a comforting bowl of soup.

Summary
Jake slightly furrows his brows in reaction to the loud slam of the door, but any and all noise of the building quickly becomes very difficult to focus on.
One, because the locked door of the single-occupancy bathroom muffles all sounds of background music, clinking glasses, and happy drinkers.
And two, because Rooster’s suddenly crowding into his space, and Jake finds it considerably harder to think coherently with Rooster’s hands pushing into his shoulders as his lips skim over his.
It could also be the alcohol, contributing to his growing loss of rationality. But Jake also kind of likes the way that Rooster tastes like beer.
So, whatever, it takes a suicide mission for them to act civil.
It takes three drinks for them to act like a lot more.

He plans to ignore it. Really he does.
Goose isn’t the first man to look at Jake with appreciation in his eyes, and he certainly won’t be the last. Nothing will come of it of course, Jake is too smart to mess around with an Admiral, though he’s happy to flutter his lashes and play the part of untouchable eye candy, because he’s benevolent like that.
But then there’s Rooster, smug and strutting and all too happy to rub it in Jake’s face that Rooster was chosen as wingman, while Jake was relegated to the spare. And suddenly a tumble in the Admiral’s bed sounds like a stellar idea; a perfect secret fuck you directed at Rooster. He doesn’t plan for it to become a habit… but you know what they say about the best laid plans.
