Summary
Mike has the flu, so he can’t go skiing with his and Will’s families. And Will stays home, because he simply hates family trips — but that means he is forced to become Mike’s caregiver for the next forty-eight hours.
Too bad they haven’t been on speaking terms since the Byers moved in with the Wheelers.
or: the one in which Mike’s fever gets so severe that he starts raving, and accidentally tells Will he loves him, while Will feeds him soup.

Summary
“Wait,” Lucas takes another glance at Will, specifically at the sweater he’s wearing. “Is that Mike’s?”
Here’s the other thing about the last eight or so months of Will Byers’ life: he’s been spending his nights, on and off, secretly, semi-occasionally, very frequently, kissing Mike Wheeler.
He’s confused about it too, don’t even worry.

Summary
“It’s not real, you know,” Ted’s voice echoed in his head—a tinny, rhythmic drone. “It’s not love, not romance. It’s a sickness.”
Mike almost moans with relief when the door falls shut behind him, the peaceful quiet of his home surrounding him. He drops his bag on the floor and crosses through their small apartment, already knowing where he'll find the one he needs. There he is—Will Byers, in all his glory.

Summary
“I didn’t break the cup.” He said more intently, picturing the mug whole and unbroken, the radio station logo that was plastered on the side uncracked.
And as he willed it, it was.
He blinked and the glass was gone like it had never been there, and there was a whole coffee mug sitting on the table in front of him when he looked down. It was sitting on the table like it had never left, the wet pool of cold coffee from before was gone and in its place was a rich brown cup of coffee, steaming lightly in the nighttime chill.
“What the fuck?” Someone said, disbelief coloring their tone and all Mike could do was stare downwards, a fresh wave of blood leaking from his nose.
“I didn't break the cup.” He echoed himself emptily, words a tad disbelieving.
He looked up then, taking in the stunned and worried faces that were surrounding the table and by proxy, him.
He pressed his fingers to his nose, eyes slipping downwards to look at the wet red that stained his fingertips and looking back up.

Summary
“It was the hottest thing I think I've ever seen,” Mike says, and when Will whips his head over, he’s nodding sagely. Like this is extremely important information.
“What,” Will chokes.
For a moment, Mike just keeps nodding. Lucas calls Almost ready! over the din of panic and Will tries to steady his breathing. He doesn’t know how he’d ended up being the one they trust with the stitches, but he gets their reasoning. Steady artists hands, they’d all said, even Mike, wincing while draining half the bottle. Then: I trust you.
“It was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” Mike repeats, like Will simply hadn’t heard him. “When you, like,” Mike dramatically wipes his nose with his good arm, eyes flashing dark. He misses, a little, and Will grabs his hand to bring it gently back down, but he gets the picture.
OR
Mike is severely injured in the Upside Down. He admits some things to Will, drunk out of his mind. They talk about it.
