Summary
Izuku is allergic to one (1) specific tree (along with all the other pollen of course) and spent his entire childhood trying to figure out how to deal with it and find the right medication. Now he's at UA where they have the trees planted everywhere and it's about that time of year where the trees start getting frisky with one another. You know what that means... (spoiler alert: it means lots of sneezing, swollen eyes, and red noses to rival Rudolph's)
This is literally just an excuse to write snot-nosed Izuku.

He hadn’t told Rozanov, why would he? They’d exchanged their usual quips in the days leading up to the game, riffing about who would win, how many goals they’d score. But underlying it all was the knowledge that they’d end the night in each other’s arms. Shane refused to admit it, but that might have been part of the reason he was so determined not to get sick. If it was any other game, any other team… It had been four months since he’d seen Rozanov.
