Summary
It happens almost too fast for her to be afraid.
As soon as El hears the tires popping on Hopper's truck, she knows the military has caught up to them. She unlaces her arm from Mike's, and as soon as the truck jolts with impact, she rolls out of the truck, hitting the ground hard, almost exactly at the border between the Upside Down and the Right Side Up.
She wants to scream at the cruelty of it all. Just as she accepted hope, it gets ripped out from beneath her, dreams shattering like porcelain under her feet.

Stuck in a foreign world with no way back, El wallows in misery before deciding to get revenge for Papa's program and open up another wormhole for her to come home. Because she was the one who created the Upside Down in the first place, so why can't she do it again to get back home?
