Venowen's motivation for everything she does is her family, but then they're ripped away from her, thanks to the same type of humans that took her mother away from her as a child. She's filled with so much rage that there's hardly room for anything else in her heart, and she's fine with that. At least, she was fine with that until she meets a human who's nothing like the shems who have taken everything from her, and doubtlessly, feeling this soft about a human and a man is embarrassing. A human definitely shouldn't make her feel like there's hope in the world, or that maybe some people are just inherently good.
