Summary
The first time, Odysseus was fairly young.
Below ten years of age, and the man had been very nice, giving him a piece of itria, the sesame brittle crunching deliciously crisp and sweet between his teeth, and promising lots more in his ship.
The cage had been padded at the bottom, and smelled of lamb, which Odysseus had liked; and it was the safest part of the ship when the storms came, sturdy and tied down to the mast, so while everyone and everything else was thrown about, Odysseus could nap at the bottom, safe from the winds and roiling waves.
All those who live have a destiny, woven into the tapestry of the Fates.
Odysseus finds out that his destiny is really really shitty and annoying.
Luckily, Odysseus knows how to make the best of anything that happens.
Step 1: learn to lie really really well.
Step 2: acquire sheep and breed them REALLY well
Step 3: Run real good

Summary
Ctimene was born at the height of lambing season, and just as easily.
In which Ctimene of Ithaca grows up alongside her brother, incredibly spoilt.
This is a world of myth and legend - where monsters roam the fantastical uncharted lands, and Gods walk alongside their worshipers.
Ctimene just wants to spin yarn.
Odysseus just wants to breed sheep.
Laertes and Anticlea just want their children to grow up safe.
Chapter 36: Proposal
By the time Odysseus did get to the sheep pens, Penelope was already waiting at the foot of the biggest oak tree, shaded enough by the fine leaves that it was only because of her pale peplos that he noticed her.
"Took you long enough," Penelope said, with a crooked smile that made Odysseus feel stupid and squishy inside, like a piece of emmer cake soaked in milk and honey.
In which the end cometh! And Odysseus FINALLY gets to say what he's been wanting to say since he arrived for the Courtship...
And all ends well! :)))

Summary
He had been visiting; it was a diplomatic embassy, but also trading. Diomedes had paid attention, as he was supposed to pay close attention to all foreign visitors to Argos, in case they intended to try anything, or were going to show themselves as allies of Thebes.
A visitor comes to Argos. Diomedes takes note of the head of this little retinue, and thinks, ah, he's the one.
The one to make him a man.
In which Diomedes came to a very Logical Conclusion, Hector finds Argos very welcoming, and Sthenelus ... Sthenelus is introduced to Diomedes' logic.

Odysseus did manage to get Nireus to eat something; he was interested in Odysseus' favourites, wanting to know why one or another was his favourite, and would take what Odysseus offered him.As an apology, Odysseus invited Nireus to his room with a promise to host him.
Privately.
Personally.
In which we see one of many ways that men could get very close and personal, how to interpret xenia to everyone's satisfaction, and a great satisfactory display of diplomacy.
Odysseus is a great diplomat!

a series of Greek Mythology, with a heavy emphasis on the basic logistics of getting fed and clothed.
Main characters would be Odysseus and his sister Ctimene, their parents with a heavy feature of the Spartan princes and princesses, and a ton of other characters.
this series has turned into what is essentially a story about familial relationships, all while following the lines of gender and sheep.

Modern Sanguo version of A very Chinese ABO which is a QYN/Joy of Life ABO AU. (which is in turn based on evocates' Sanguo ABO.
basic notes is:

- ABO is known as 'caste', and, like sex, caste is known at birth
- population dynamics are: Alpha 30%; Beta 60%; Omega 10%
- female alphas are rare, male omegas rarer.China is now in 3 countries: Northern Wei, Western Shu, Southern Wu. Direct import of all the Sanguo people straight to modern era, so you can look up the names of Sanguo people and then imagine what they probably did, in a modern version. And then add some OCs.... and then paste on the ABO.

His sailors had joked – with less and less mirth and more and more spite as their journey lengthened – that Doom pursued Odysseus as relentlessly as kings and princes had chased Helen, as equally desirous to take him as a wife.
Cheerful lamentations about how devastated Lord Moros must be that their destined meeting kept being evaded had eventually turned to callous speculation upon the size and shape of the phallus Odysseus would be forced to take when the surely infuriated god finally had him in his grasp. The sole consensus had been that there would be no oil to ease the way.
Odysseus remembered every single one of those jokes he’d heard and overheard as Moros began to remove his clothing before the baths, setting each piece neatly aside, and had to turn away.
gorgeous, inevitable, inexorable doomed courtship. and Odysseus' fate was ever meant to Doom's.
