Summary
A set of stories transporting ER to the present day, introducing its Dr. John Carter to The Pitt's Dr. Dennis Whitaker. Any resemblance to Dr. Robby is coincidence...and occasionally kind of funny.
The main story I wanted to tell is done, so I've marked the series complete, but I reserve the right to return to this universe in the future. ;)

Summary
On a porch, in the dark, somewhere in Broken Bow, Nebraska, on a random autumn Saturday, Robby brings his cigarette to Dennis' lips, as if it is the easiest thing in the world. But there is so much more to this one act of kindness, in the way his fingers brush against Dennis' lips, the way Dennis looks up at him through his lashes, eyes wide on his parents' porch. Dennis fears he might lose the family that raised him, but he isn't as scared, if it means he might gain a new one.
After Dennis' parents find out that he is trans and has been transitioning ever since leaving for medical school, Dr. Robby offers to drive him home to his parents, to do damage control.

Dennis Whitaker never made it to medical school, he's twenty-six working at his mother's bakery. Day to day is the same, he gets in at five in the morning, he leaves at six in the evening. In a town where everyone knows everyone when Michael "Robby" Robinavitch arrives, he sticks out like a sore thumb. After Robby becomes a regular at the bakery, Dennis starts to remember why he wanted to leave town all those years ago.

When Whitaker accidentally sends a dick pic to Dr. Robby, he never thought it would end like this.

The ED team shuffles out, Whitaker and Dr. Robby taking up the rear. Dr. Robby stops him with a hand on Whitaker’s waist, there and gone. “Really,” he says low, directly into his ear, beard scratching his cartilage, “that was amazing. You didn’t waste any time starting compressions. That probably saved that baby’s life. You saved that baby’s life.”
The praise goes to his head, suffusing him with endorphins. “Thank you, Dad.” And he promptly wants to crawl out of his skin and slither down the drain with the after birth slop.

Summary
The day shift would often go out for food or drinks on Friday nights. Each week, they invited Robby, and each week, he politely declined, saying he would see them at work next week.
“You think I want to spend more time with you guys?” he joked. Santos rolled her eyes.
“You gotta let loose sometime, old man, or else you’ll explode.”
What they didn’t know was that Robby was letting loose. Just in the privacy of his bedroom.
Robby took a long, warm shower, made himself a quick dinner, and then settled into bed with his fully charged laptop. He checked the time—9:45 pm. 15 minutes until br0kenb0w went live.
