Castle Evermore Labs Subject 01 stared into the mirror, and Riko Moriyama stared back. To anyone else, it might have been a strange thing, seeing your own face as a costume, but 01 was 01, and he knew exactly who he was. He could barely even feel Riko's smile on his face anymore.

Summary
“Sage,” the stranger said as he leaned back, eyes wide and dilated. “And blood.”
“Copper.” Neil felt heady and off-balance. No one had smelled him since his mother died. She only said he smelled of blood when she was angry, her eyes distant and haunted as the shadow of a monster hung heavy over them both. His father was the one who smelled of blood, but it wasn’t from his neck and wrists. Blood pooled in his mouth instead; slipped out between his teeth, dried scablike under his fingernails.
It was his legacy that Neil inherited, but he’d done it all wrong. He was supposed to be an Alpha. His hands were supposed to be steady when they held a knife. He was supposed to be able to stand still, to hold his tongue, to obey. He wasn’t born an Alpha, so the least he could do was be a good Omega.
He wasn’t sure such a thing existed.
More than that, he was sure he wasn’t an Omega at all.

Summary
The boy beside her is nearly unrecognizable from the Goro Akechi she knows. Always talking, bratty and smug, overconfidence only offset by his undeniable intelligence. He was an annoying know-it-all, and they never quite got along, but she respected him and thought the feeling was mutual.
This Akechi is confident in a quiet way, head held high and body stiff, jaw locked shut. He looks exactly the same, and yet he's a stranger.

Summary
Castle Evermore Labs, run by Tetsuji Moriyama of Edgar Allan Inc., is a completely safe and ethical facility dedicated to research into the so-called "abnormalities" that are known to cause strange abilities in people, as discovered 30 years ago by Kayleigh Day and Tetsuji Moriyama. It's a large undertaking, with funding provided by such people as Kengo Moriyama and Nathan Wesninski, who have proven their belief in the research's safety and efficacy by sending their own children, Riko and Nathaniel, to Castle Evermore to take part in the experiment. Additionally, after her passing, Kayleigh Day's son, Kevin, was taken in by Tetsuji to be raised in Evermore alongside his nephew. All other subjects were admitted voluntarily by their guardians and can be withdrawn from the study at any time.

Summary
That sentinels - marvels of science, human beings enhanced to the edge of human perfection - fell apart without someone to focus on was, by every scientist's account, complete bollocks. That all his running went down the drain because Neil happened to match with one was, in his personal opinion, even more absurd.
Meanwhile, Evermore Laboratories continued to care not one bit about what was or wasn't possible, and weren't about to let a little matter like basic human rights stop them.

Summary
Neil was panting, lips red and swollen from the earlier harshness of Andrew's own. His head was tilted back, Andrew's position knelt at his feet giving him a perfect view of the long line of his neck.
Andrew couldn't be embarrassed by his desperation to get Neil's pants off. He needed to get his dick in his hands, needed to feel its warmth, the way it would harden in his hands.
He needed to see Neil's face, honest and overwhelmed in pleasure when he finally put his mouth on him. He practically salivated at the thought.
Andrew finally ripped Neil's boxers down to the sound of his stuttered breathing, only to freeze in place. There was a large patch of unruly hair, darker and longer than Andrew's had ever been, but that wasn't what gave him pause.
"Andrew?" Neil murmured in confusion.
Andrew inhaled sharply, the closest thing to regret he'd ever felt welling up from deep in his bones. Here was someone who trusted him, who understood him, who was quite possibly the most attractive man Andrew had ever seen, and he wanted Andrew. Except Andrew had no idea what to do with the fact that Neil didn't have a dick.
