Byler AU where Will works at a boba cafe in Hawkins, Indiana. It’s 1989 and Mike and Will are 18. (I know bubble tea was not popular in the US until the 90s, but who cares 🤷🏻) Jim adopted Jane (Eleven is the nickname Mike gave her and now everyone uses it) before he and Joyce were married so now Elevin is Will's little sister (they do not know her actual birthday because the agency that Jim adopted her from did not know, so they made her birthday up.) They lived in California for a year because Lonnie (biological father of Will and Jonathan) had become a threat to the family and they had to move for safety. But the family moved back 3 years ago after Lonnie was admitted into a mental institute.
