“Is everything okay?” Elaina’s already half on her feet, paperwork abandoned on her desk.

“No problem.” Foolish starts walking again. He’s moving through the woods up to Las Nevadas, a journey that’s excruciatingly familiar now. He can start to see where his constant coming and going is wearing down the dirt. Eventually, others will see that this way is just a little more clear, and over time a path will form, and it will all be Foolish’s fault.

He wakes up to the rattle of a skeleton outside, blood pounding in his ears and cotton wool in his mouth, and gods that fucking torch is bright, so he squints as he extinguishes the flame, and lets his eyes adjust.
The sheep peers up at him, and makes an unassuming baah, nudges his leg with the tip of his nose, and he rolls his eyes.
"Fuck off, mate," he spits.
Torches, hailstorms, and black sheep.

Always what Quackity wants to hear when introducing his slime spy to new people. Especially to Wilbur.
“You know me?”
“Yeah! We hung out in that sewer together, man!”
Wilbur raises an eyebrow.
“You didn’t have this, though,” Charlie continues, reaching out to brush the white streak of hair off Wilbur’s face.
“Well, nice to re-meet you, then," he says, holding out a hand.
Charlie’s whole face lights up as it looks at the hand, then up at Quackity, then back at Wilbur.
Quackity watches with something like dawning horror as Wilbur Soot daps him up.

Summary
The first time Fundy tells someone he’s a boy, it’s his dad. Who else would it be? Some parts of the reaction, he expected - the babying, although that’s because it’s his dad, not because Fundy’s turned out to be his son, and the cooing, which is pretty much the same schtick, and the incessant and smothering love and support that his dad seems to have in spades whenever it suits him.
“So,” Wilbur says, business-like, suddenly, “like Eret?”Or: Fundy, and coming out as trans to his compatriots, and the way that everyone seems to react in the same way: "like Eret?"
