The door opens hesitantly, which is scarily uncharacteristic. Eret slips through, expression barely readable, and shuts the door. “Hi.” Their voice is quiet.
“Is everything okay?” Elaina’s already half on her feet, paperwork abandoned on her desk.

“No problem.” Foolish starts walking again. He’s moving through the woods up to Las Nevadas, a journey that’s excruciatingly familiar now. He can start to see where his constant coming and going is wearing down the dirt. Eventually, others will see that this way is just a little more clear, and over time a path will form, and it will all be Foolish’s fault.

"That's good!" Foolish beams at her, and it half-quells the frustration coalescing in her chest. "Don't stress too much about being perfectly exact, okay? What's important is getting the general feel and shape. Very little of this, this type of sign can be misinterpreted for small reasons. It's kind of like Nether sign in that respect!"

They sit next to each other on a secluded hill, and their hands are close enough to touch, and maybe Eret doesn't truly understand either. "I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know you."
"I don't know who I'd be either." Foolish murmurs, almost enough to be lost in the sounds around them, and Eret could cry.

Honestly, Techno should've known it was a trap.
He really, really should've been more distrustful of that crow, but it had zoomed over the landscape and cawed wildly and that always meant Phil was in trouble. Of course Techno had followed. He should've thought about how it was weird for there to be only one. He should've noticed the weird red undertones of its feathers before the drop down to the spider spawner.
It turns through tight tunnels down into the Egg room, and oh god, there's Phil.
