Summary
Jack must’ve jinxed it. He wanted something else to steal his attention from the handover, and that wish seems to have been granted in the form of a yelp of pain.
Jack's head snaps up in search of the source of the sound. It’s loud enough to have grabbed the attention of everyone in the vicinity. No traumas have come in since he arrived, so whoever made that sound is likely to be in urgent need of his assistance.
And that’s when he sees it. Samira. She’s stumbling out of a patient's room, clutching at her right side, collapsing into Langdon, who catches her before she can fall to the floor.
Or, with a rift caused by Samira's impending departure, Jack witnessing an injury at shift change might be the catalyst needed for them to bridge the gap.

Summary
Jack swallows again, aware he’s interrupting their game with that small sign of apprehension. “Are you nervous?”
Samira considers his question.
Eager? Yes.
Horny beyond belief? Exceedingly so.
But nervous? No, she knows that she trusts Jack completely.
“No,” She says easily and takes another step forward.
Jack's mouth twitches down, and he nods to himself at the certainty in her voice.
“My nervousness exists on several levels,” He admits once Samira takes a final step forward and comes to stand between his spread legs.
Or, Jack and Samira try to have sex for the first time.

Summary
"This isn't middle school," Garcia says, eyes flashing. It feels like middle school, all of a sudden - Trinity tongue tied in some institutional stairwell, someone else making her feel small and incompetent. "Langdon made a mistake and owned up to it. Let it go."
Because that's what you're meant to do, when people make a mistake. You forgive them. You move on. They get a second chance. (Or a third, or a tenth, or a hundredth - )
Trinity has just never understood why some people get to come back from mistakes and other people don't.

Summary
Baran leaned against the threshold, nursing a cup of tea “Don’t overthink it” she said, taking a sip and making Jack jolt.
“What?”
The woman walked forward, letting herself fall on the armchair on the other side of the coffee table, folding her legs “Fitting in, belonging; don’t try to, it’s a draining goose chase” she explained “Just cut yourself a small place where you fit and stick to it”
Jack looked at her for a moment before snorting out a disbelieving laughter, which made her smirk “Thank fuck you are not a motivational speaker, Baran”
“That wouldn’t work with any of us anyway”
The former combat medic hummed in agreement “Too jaded?”
Too jaded, too sarcastic, too pessimistic for a bunch of good sentiments to be thrown at them with aggressive joy “Yeah”.
