Ratchet hadn't made a good job of hiding his predicament.
It was made clear when after three days of tiptoeing around everyone he saw Optimus looking at him like he was trying to solve a riddle. He did try his best to make the multiple trips to his berthroom as unsuspicious as possible. Forgetting an important datapad here, tired because of that project in particular there. He even said once in his eagerness that he wanted to drink his energon alone. Which he never did. As the days advanced, he had to increase the amount of...reliefs necessary to sooth his body.
He should have known it wouldn't go under the radar of his oldest friend.
