Francis Crozier was anxious, which was an unusual feeling for him. He’d been through plenty in his life, and very little left him feeling unmoored and vibrating with worry that something was going to go wrong. But if there was anything in his life worth being anxious over, it was the wedding of the young man he held very close to his heart. Thomas Jopson was the closest thing to a son Francis thought he might ever have, and he wanted this day to be as close to perfect for him as it could be.

Summary
Edward Little is a ghost hunter. He's also a bit skeptical about the concept of ghost hunting and the validity of the paranormal. What started out as a way to research old buildings spiraled into the low end of YouTube stardom. As his popularity rose, Edward realized he needed help, an assistant. After being introduced at a paranormal investigation conference, Thomas Jopson came on board as his assistant to help research, write scripts and investigate. Thomas is harboring a secret though, and it starts to interfere with their investigations,though Edward remains in the dark.
Investigations are becoming more frequent and stranger and the evidence of the paranormal is becoming harder to dismiss or reconcile. The ghosts they investigate start to feel more and more familiar, and Edward starts to regain more memories of a past life that he struggles to make sense of while Thomas struggles more and more to keep his secret. What's worse is they start to realize something might be hunting them as well. -

Her journey to save him takes her into The Shimmer, a mysterious quarantine zone with a team of other scientists, all women, to see what they can uncover. What they find will leave each of them changed in ways that will be hard to explain when they return home.

Hickey regarded the Lieutenant carefully, looking him up and down, taking in his stance and the look on his face, weighing his options before he spoke again. “It doesn’t seem to me that you’ve brought anyone with you. Am I not in trouble then?” he ventured, a slim smile growing on his face.
“Not at this juncture. But I would tread much more carefully on this subject going forward. Jopson has a hawk’s ears,” Henry told him, and was surprised by the venom in his own voice as he said Jopson’s name. By the look on his face, Hickey was too. Henry continued to speak, before he could be interrupted. “Hodgson is not the leader you need to make this legitimate, he’s far from the confident decision maker that will keep the men going."
Henry Le Vesconte makes a choice to follow a different path, separating him from the main expedition and making him party to a mutiny.
