Summary
Overworked molecular biology student Ryland Grace has a terrible habit of sleeping through his early morning alarms. But, fortunately and unfortunately for him, his engineering roommate, Rocky, happens to have both sensitive hearing and an inclination for organized chaos... and maybe plenty of other things that Grace can't help himself from falling for.
or, “oh no, I think I might be falling in love with my roommate but I’m sure that he’s definitely pissed at me because my alarms wake him up too early in the morning.”

Summary
46 years.
That’s how long Rocky spent alone, hiding in his workshop, making useless gadgets to add to his ship, repeating the same calculations over and over until they made him sick. Never once stepping a claw outside, refusing to face the reality of his dead crew and a failed mission. Doing nothing, wasting away, betraying everyone who had faith in his mission, betraying Adrian.
A coward.
Grace’s fragile heart flutters in a desperate attempt to force blood around his broken body.
Rocky will not die a coward.

Summary
“Think of it in this way: suppose I make two statements. Statement one: “After I die, I shall be reborn as a baby… but I shall forget my former life.” Statement two: “After I die… a baby will be born.” Now, I believe that those two statements are saying exactly the same thing.”—Alan Watts

Summary
“Good good, now use welding tool to join.” He moves Grace’s wrist to position the rod so it turns farther outward.
“Slow slow gentle,” he repeats. Grace is actually going to die.
He stretches his finger, tugging the wires connecting the mechanisms, and clicks the fingertips together to create a spark. Rocky chitters cheerfully behind him.
“Good good, Grace doing good.”
Grace’s face is burning. Rocky’s body heat seeps into him; he’s running hot all over, but especially in his face. Rocky doesn’t comment on it yet, hopefully ascribing Grace’s fever-like state to his own body being a smelting furnace.
He wets his dry lips again. “Thanks, bud, I think I’m getting the hang of it.”
Grace sucks at flirting. But when he comes across Ghost (1990) while looking for something to watch for their movie night, he has a brilliant idea: to recreate the pottery wheel scene with Rocky. He asks Rocky to teach him to make xenonite sculptures using Eridian welding tools. Naturally, things escalate from there.
