    Or: Bruce gets in between a bullet and Clark. People think they're dating for *reasons* and Clark decides to take this to his advantage to take Bruce to Smallville for a week to take care of him while he recovers.
    And maybe they fall in love in the process.

    Bruce has been captured by unknown men and he has no idea where he is or how long he's been here. All he knows is that it's worth it if Clark got away, if Clark is safe. Because the world can go on without Bruce, but not without Clark. Not without Superman.

Bruce has been through torture before, has lived through more than most will see in their entire lifetime before he turned twenty, but this is different. They’re not asking him questions; they don’t want to know what he knows; they don’t even care who he is. They don’t pull at his cowl; they don’t even take a peak when it cracks beneath their relentless assaults. They won’t care that the guy they’ve got stashed away in a filthy basement is Bruce Wayne, nor do they care that he’s Batman. All they care about is causing as much damage as possible.
