    “Okay…” Tony says, prompting him to go on.

     

    “AndIthinkyouhangingaroundkindaruinsmyimage.”

     

    Tony blinks. He replays the sentence in his head. He blinks again.

     

    “Me hanging around ruins your what?”

     

    “It’s just, I’m already the lamest guy in our grade,” Peter laments, “and you dropping me off and telling me to get enough Vitamin D and to eat my veggies in front of everyone doesn’t really improve my chances with MJ.”

     

    Tony doesn’t know what to think. He doesn’t know what to say, which is mildly concerning because he always knows what to say. He catches Rhodey’s eye, and his friend promptly bursts into very un-Rhodey-like giggles. Peter looks scared.

     

    “I’m Tony Stark.” Tony says slowly. “If I tell you to eat your veggies, that’s cool. I’m cool.”

     

    “Cool people don’t say that.” Peter says, and then immediately looks mortified.
