‘Don’t shout at me in me own fucking car!’ Tommy barked back, turning and pointing at her.

Tommy’s gaze was wide and wild, horrified by her words, looking at her skinny wrist, her battered face. He was shaking his head, but she was sobbing, looking out of the window, likely regretting speaking at all. She had been sweet. So sweet.
He swallowed. ‘Go in the house. Polly has a bath for you.’

Story takes place during series 2 and before series 3 but I wanted to re-write how they find each other again because I feel as though the writers did not do their relationship justice.

When she wakes the world is a blurry mess of muted colours. Her eyes are gritty and she reaches for her glasses on the bedside table but they aren't there. She frowns reaching around and blinks her eyes slowly. She shifts and stretches out her legs and back. The bed is empty beside her, but there is whistling from the other room. She carefully sits up and swings her legs over the side of the bed, curling her toes on the carpet. There is a discarded grey shirt on the floor that she scoops up and pulls over her head. It smells of James and the SHIELD emblem is printed over the front.
