Jinx shook her head in disbelief, almost laughing. “You’re supposed to kill people like me.”
“I know.”
Jinx deflated, shrinking in on herself. “I don’t know how to be your friend, Ekko.”
Ekko smiled, shrugging it off. “Well, I’ve never been friends with a vampire before. I guess we’ll both have to figure it out as we go.”
Or
Ekko goes against everything he knows to save a vampire and ends up changing his life in ways he never could’ve imagined, giving him a love that lives on for eternity.

Summary
The moon sits high in the sky, but the guest knocking incessantly on Ekko’s door doesn’t seem to care what time it is. It isn’t unusual for Jinx to visit him at odd hours.
“Can I stay here tonight?” Her meek voice cuts through the air, pulling Ekko out of his trance, yet his voice is still lost to the confines of sleep. Her pleading eyes look up at him, and her lips quiver as more tears form. Jinx’s botched attempt at a chuckle doesn’t alleviate the tension.
“You planning to answer or are we going to be out in the hall all night, little man?”

Jinx looked over at him, at the way he was crouching to gently pull a scrap of wire out of Isha’s fingers before she broke it—or herself. His voice was soft when he explained what it did, fingers brushing hers as he showed her the switch mechanism. The girl nodded seriously, enthralled.
Something twisted and loosened all at once in her chest.
“You really don’t do things halfway,” she said, a little too quiet, a little too honest.
Ekko glanced over at her and gave a crooked smile. “Not with you.”

Accidental at first. Then deliberate.

Sometime shortly before season 1 episode 4, Jinx and Ekko start meeting up in a ruined attic. On opposite sides of a war, their meetings are fragile and tense, but something keeps pulling them back — to the dust, the silence, the quiet space between past and future, where nothing is said and everything matters.

Summary
During a firelight patrol, Jinx was spotted after weeks of vanishing without a trace. Suspecting shimmer abuse, and a new dangerous variant of it, the firelight's make a quick decision to bring her to the base. With a combination of an unconscious Jinx and a sick Ekko, they chose to lock Jinx up in a room until she's awake, too conflicted on how to treat her. Whereas, Ekko, chose to put aside their conflict with Jinx and focus on the shimmer symptoms Jinx is displaying.

“Yeah, okay,” he says, always non-confrontational.
“I don’t even know her name,” Ekko counterattacks, but it comes out a little sad and pathetic. If she tried to convince Scar that she doesn’t want to know Tootsie’s name, she definitely didn’t succeed.

Chest heaving, Ekko looked at Jinx, with her hollowed-out cheeks and her empty, rose-pink eyes. Dark streaks were painted below her eyes, deep shadows ringing around her eyelids. Her skin was pale as white ash, the pink light of the mechanical monkey’s eyes illuminating it. Her braids had been undone, cut short, not quite as short as Powder’s hair, but far from Jinx’s lengthy twin braids. The hair that remained curtained around her, jagged strands like a thousand severed timelines.
(TL;DR: Ekko tries to save Jinx over, and over, and over again)
Arcane Season 2 Episode 09 Scene rewrite/continuation because I refuse to accept that the scene just conveniently ended there.

Summary
There's only three constants when it comes to Jinx:
1. She never leaves anything behind.
2. She never visits two nights in a row.
3. She never stays into the morning.Ekko was used to this. Fine with it. If it meant that at least some nights he could hold her, know she was fine, he could deal with it. Even if he wanted more. So much more.
But when Jinx starts breaking each rule, one by one, Ekko realizes that what they have is not enough. But he's too much of a coward to ask for more. And it's ruining his life.

And she’s the same girl, really, right? At the core, at the ugly dark heart of it all, he knows she’s just one girl. There was always a bit of Jinx in Powder, just like there’s still so much Powder in Jinx. He can try to pull them apart, put Powder in one corner, Jinx in the other. Separate past and present so he can tell himself his feelings are for someone and something long gone instead of what’s right in front of him. But he can’t so easily lie to himself when she’s right there, everything he’s ever wanted telling him that he’s still everything she wants.

When Jinx is released from the hospital after an unexpected relapse, Ekko is determined to support her in any way he can. He creates a handmade gift to remind her she's not alone.
