Summary
Jealousy can be a powerful force and great sustenance for creatures of dark and shadow. When one attaches itself to a human host, it nurtures those feelings and feeds as long as it can. But humans are fickle and emotions change constantly; it’s rare to find a host to stay attached to long term.
Ignis was the only one in Noctis’s life for so long that once others became a part of it, Ignis grew jealous. Jealous enough for a creature to grab hold. Jealous enough to feed the creature for years. Jealous enough that the creature could grow strength enough to start hurting those around Ignis.
If Ignis doesn’t take control of his jealous nature, the one getting hurt may well be the one he wants above all else: Noctis.
