But Joshua and Clive intercept him before he can flee and coax him back to Clive's room, where they insist that he stay. Dion cannot help but fall into the comfort of their embrace.

Clive's chest heaves. “No… I…” He swallows and rasps around the deep ache in his throat, trying not to cry. “You can't be Cid. He's dead.”
“Is he, now?” Cid's achingly familiar rumble rips through Clive. The older man observes him coolly for a moment. “News to me.”

It's a reaction he quite likes, one he'd love to see more often; those freckled cheeks painted a lovely crimson, eyes glimmering and wide, plush lips fumbling to speak.

This, of course, means that most heroes don’t really take it seriously anymore. Instead, using at least one spot on the EIC as a “fantasy pick” has become common practice.
A trend that #1 Hero Dekiru might, or might not, end up regretting when he runs afoul of a villain's quirk and his EIC list is activated.
