“I have it here that you’re his biological father,” she said, looking back up at him, seeming slightly worried. “Is that correct?”
“Y-Yeah, yes, I mean, I was the sperm donor,” Buck stammered out. “Sorry, what’s this about? And uh, why didn’t Connor and Kameron just give me a call?”
Due to his various horrible injuries and near death experiences over the years, Buck had become very adept at recognizing pity. So, when the familiar expression flashed across the woman’s face, alarm bells began going off in his head.
“Mr. Buckley-”
“Kinard,” Buck interrupted, trying to delay the bad news he knew was inevitably coming.
“Mr. Kinard, I’m from the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services. I’m very sorry to be the one to tell you this,” Sophie said gently before pausing, carefully considering her next words. “But Connor and Kameron McLain were killed in an accident two years ago.”

Buck meant the words as a joke, something to try to break the tension, except that Tommy was looking at him with a very serious expression.
“He did,” Tommy affirmed, and Buck was mortified, absolutely mortified, that his best friend was talking to his boyfriend, telling him how they were allowed to have sex while Buck was injured.
And he was also overpoweringly, unbearably turned on.

“I don’t think I understand.” Buck frowned as he double checked to make sure no one was around to overhear. Not like they had when Bobby got the call about his donated blood. “Can you run that by me one more time?”
“Alright. When we ran your blood work, we also found you listed as an organ donor, but not from when you filed your driver’s license. You were a donor for bone marrow when you were a child, for another child with cancer. And we were wanting to know if you were interested in staying on the donor list?”
“I donated bone marrow as a kid.” Buck repeated dumbly. “Where, uh, where did you get that record from, just to refresh my memory?”
“Oh, no worries. This happened when you were just over a year old, so you wouldn’t have any solid memories of it.” The woman said certainly. As if that made what he was hearing easier. “We found the match through Hershey General. We didn’t request a full record, though, since that’s not really our area.”

A case kept haunting Tony. There was nothing really special about the case, aside from the awful waste of life a murder always was. They could find justice for the victims, but it didn't ever bring someone back to life. It wasn't the murder victim that haunted Tony at any rate. It was his mother and her interview. He had seen grief and devastation in the eyes of that mother. But he had also seen a spark.
Time and again, Tony heard her words and since then, he had been looking at his team differently. Most of all, he had been looking at Gibbs differently. And deep within himself, he felt something stir. It might even be a spark.

There was a small beep in his ear. O's way of saying she was there.
He was prepared to ask her what she wanted when noise from the other end started coming through. There was quite a bit of yelling followed by Bruce making a noise that quieted everyone.
A voice Jason immediately recognized filtered through the silence.
"Really should be more careful of your comm line It's pretty easy to get into."
Jason pressed his lips together and bit down on them. It was the only way he could keep the laugh bubbling in his throat at bay.
Damian began cursing the voice out in the leagues dialect fast enough Jason was only catching so much. He knew Damian's rate was too fast for Bruce to keep up with. That thought made his hold on the laugh break.
The Bat's comm line is filled with the sound of Damian's quick Arabic and Jason's laughter.
