Summary
“He is the Chosen One.”
“I did not raise that child to be a sacrifice!” Obi-wan spits, venom in his words, in his eyes, in his heart, every cell of his body pulsing with primal rage.
Qui-Gon's ghost raises an eyebrow, unmoved. “Raise?”
"Train,” Obi-Wan whispers, belatedly, falling back on what is proper, what is accepted, what is expected, what is—woefully inadequate, to describe all that he has done and will do for that boy.
Or: In a galaxy where the Chosen One prophecy carries a promise of certain death for its bearer, Obi-Wan trains Anakin with this terrible secret in his heart. What happens on Mortis brings both master and padawan to their limits.

Bookmarker's Notes
Unfinished but so lovely. Explores the lack of choice Anakin had in joining the Order and the inherent lack of choice that comes with a fate-dictating prophesy. Obi-Wan’s perspective is used to maximum impact. Being the Master of The Chosen One has an inherent lack of choice, too.

Summary
And then Anakin’s body moves.
It’s wrong.
Every part of it is wrong, the movements stiff and flat and uncanny. It’s like something else entirely is pulling at the cords of his muscles, like the Force has tied puppet strings around his limbs. He has no control, no control at all.
He feels like a thing to be used.
———
Sidious has been weaving his web around little Skywalker for over a decade. But his future apprentice’s relationship with his former Master is proving surprisingly resilient, as is Kenobi’s ability to thwart Sidious’ attempts on his life.
So, after unexpectedly procuring an especially powerful Dark item, he decides to take more drastic measures to ensure he gets what he wants.
———
Palpatine uses a Sith mind-control parasite on Anakin. Anakin is fully conscious and aware while his body is puppeteered against his will.

Summary
Anakin Skywalker died in his son’s arms on the Death Star. He woke up again in the middle of a battlefield during the Clone Wars, choking because he forgot how to breathe without a machine forcing air in his lungs, unable to stand because he hadn’t been standing on his own legs for two decades.
Time-travel fix-it in which Mustafar haunts Anakin decades after it happened and years before it would.

This really is the most truthful Obi-Wan and baby Ani. “A man burdened by a boy he loves but does not understand” is what makes them so special and so, so tragic.

Anakin was going to be so normal about this conversation.
In fact, he would act so normally that there would be no conversation, because Ahsoka would immediately see his complete and utter lack of weirdness and she’d forget what she was going to say. Honestly, as soon as she registered his highly ordinary state of being, he would no longer have any problems. All Anakin had to do, was sit up, smooth out his clothes, give a smile and project total zen.
It was fool proof.

Anakin had never felt right being called a boy. The word sat wrongly on their skin, like someone had shoved them into a pool of oil. It sank deep, permeating every interaction, bleeding into every choice they made.
Anakin knew they weren’t a boy when they came to Coruscant. They knew they weren’t a boy when they fell in love with Padme Naberrie. They knew they weren’t a boy when the Galactic Republic fell. Darth Vader knew his choice wasn’t important anymore.Bookmarked by evildala

Neira Stormchaser was once a slave on Tatooine. Having fled servitude to the Hutts, she had made a space for herself on Imperial Centre until she is handed a file regarding a particular person's insane accounts and expenses (who in the Galaxy crashes this many starships??).
She would like the record to state, she is not paid enough to chase Dark Lords around their own Cruiser, whether they be avoiding her, bowing to a Depur or murdering incompetent officers and/or grumpy old men from the Desert. She is definitely not paid enough to deal with Kitster eating popcorn in the background or Kix's constant babying of said Dark Lord.
Firmus Piett would just like a nap.

Summary
"Help me.”
Obi-Wan hesitated. Anakin’s lightsaber was still active, still bathing its owner in the crimson light that spoke of blood and anger, but his distress was palpable in the Force. Anakin swayed, and then he toppled over in much the same way a mountain crumbled. The lightsaber carefully, slowly—as if it doubted that it should—rolled out of his fingers, dark moondust engulfing the gleaming hilt.
Anakin didn’t move.
“Oh, blast it all,” Obi-Wan breathed out, and found himself on his knees in front of the suit he’d nearly destroyed only minutes ago. His lightsaber hissed as he deactivated it and hung it on his belt, and his hands hovered over Anakin uselessly. The debris of the same rocks he’d thrown at him now dug painfully in his knees, and he could feel the way that dirt and soot were clinging to his skin, mixing with sweat.
This was the worst possible thing he could do, and he wordlessly asked for absolution as he grabbed Anakin by his armpits and began to heave him towards his starship.

Summary
Sense had been coming to Darth Vader for quite a long time...years, in fact. But, trapped in a cumbersome life-support suit without a friend in the world, under the thumb of the most powerful man in the galaxy- Vader saw no way out of his situation. He'd made his bed, so he must lie in it, however awful of a bed it was.
Or so he'd thought. Several years into his own personal hell, he'd woken up one day and realized that the children who Sidious had taken from the Jedi temple- taken and kept alive as the only Force-sensitives left- were dying. Pushed to their limits, they'd begun to break under the pressure of becoming Inquisitors. Now, due to Sidious's abuse, there were only three of them left.Vader did the only thing he could do. Taking the children with him, he fled the Empire. He went back to his old Master, a man he knew to be a doctor and a healer- the best healer left in the galaxy, perhaps. He planned to bargain with his own life, asking the Jedi Healer to save the dying children in exchange.
He went back to Obi-Wan Kenobi.- Language:

Summary
Here with him, with her husband, Padmé was struck with a certain lightness she had never felt before. It made her want to do something bold, something daring— things Senator Amidala would never even dream of doing. And she wasn’t Senator Amidala right now. She was just Padmé— and Padmé wanted to be with Anakin, to feel and touch and know him in every way you could know a person. Turning back to him, Padmé did her best impression of a seductive look, tilting her chin down and glancing up at him through her lashes.
“Let’s go swimming,” she said, reaching up to slowly slide the strap of her dress down her shoulder.
On their honeymoon, Anakin and Padmé take advantage of how isolated the Naboo lake country truly is.

Summary
“’Do you…’ Obi-Wan begins slowly. ‘Would you be...comfortable, with opening the bond briefly?’
And all at once, the barrier retreats, and in its place is Anakin, all of him. Obi-Wan can feel grooves and gouges, blackened, pitted scars upon the marrow of his being, carved by such terribly Dark works. But the blemishes are only that. The beating core, the blazing heart, the Light of him still lives on, despite it all.
(And Obi-Wan knows now, in the luminous energy imbuing his very bones, that he would do anything, anything, to keep that Light alive.)
——————————
Anakin and Obi-Wan woke up weeks before the beginning of the Clone Wars with memories of the next seven years. While they still struggle to accept both what they’ve done and what was done to them, they’ve started on the road to healing and atonement.
Now, they begin to plan how to defeat Darth Sidious while reacclimatizing to their lives from before the war. There is still much personal trauma for them to work through as they try to deal with their past and prepare for their future. But, as long as they have each other, nothing is insurmountable.

Bookmarker's Notes
This continues to be my absolute fave fave fave fave fic. The concept of restorative justice is so inherent in the plot of star wars and i love the way you write about remorse and our ability (and even responsibility) to love those who have done wrong!!! Just Obi-Wans gentle affection in this chapter really demonstrates that in the micro, and obvi Plo’s words to the council in the memory. Your writing is very visceral and that makes it very well suited for these topics!!
Also looooove the note about Lucas’ insight into modernity and politics through the prequels. I have been lurking on star wats twitter recently and soooooo much of the discourse on like pro- and anti-jedi etc etc makes me want to scream…like both the electoral and institutional politics of the prequels are so intentionally crafted……and while whenever i feel this way i know it is time to go outside, i felt very seen lol

Summary
“Anakin?” Padme says, and stands up. “My goodness, you’ve grown!”
“You recognize me?” Anakin says, taken aback.
“You haven’t changed that much,” She giggles. She looks Anakin over, and normally when people spend too long looking at her Anakin’s whole body tenses up and she has to fight the urge to punch them. People always stare at her like they’ve never seen anyone quite like her before, like she’s some kind of freak of nature. But not Padmé. She looks at Anakin inquisitively; her eyes sparkle with a thousand questions.
“You must just have a good memory for faces,” Anakin chuckles. She keeps looking over at the women Padmé was laughing with. Shouldn’t she be getting back to them?
“Or maybe you’re just hard to forget.” That smile again. “Come, come sit with us!”
That’s the last thing Anakin wants. The idea of sitting with a group of people, staring at the wall to avoid saying something stupid that would make them all look at her funny- sounds exhausting.
“I didn’t come here for them.” She says, more harshly than she means to.
