Summary
Gotham does not collapse all at once. It erodes.
James Liang believes in order because he has survived what happens without it. As Harvey Dent’s right hand, he works the cases no one wants, follows the money no one else can see, and convinces himself that the system can still be cleaned from the inside.

Summary

When the sound system breaks, he doesn’t come clean, but lies instead that he split into two to make Robin. From there it spirals as all the Robins make the lies grow and twist it in their own ways, until the truth comes out.
