Who knows. He sure as hell doesn’t anymore. The world ended and then it didn’t, he’s not quite alone but he’s still lonely, he’s lost many people and has even more who he holds dear that he’ll soon lose too, and nothing ever changes. So he runs trough his rehearsed scenarios still, where he’s memorized every line of dialogue and every outcome, and permits himself to revel in the bitter sweet “what could’ve been”s, if only for just a moment.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood doesn't remember anything about his death. That's probably a blessing. What he's like to remember is when a garden decided to make his chest cavity prime real estate. Inside his chest could be the key to saving the remains of humanity from a raging zombie apocolypse, if only he could cross half the country to deliver it to the one man who knows how to use it.
He will fight, hitchhike, lie, and maybe even smile his way up to Washington if it kills him... again.
Maybe the people he meets on the way can give him the same hope he wants to give Vash.

There is something that the Knights notice in their Grandmaster’s office room. Blue and alive. One tiny lantern, containing a ball of gentle azure fire that never extinguished itself, sits on his working desk, calmly accompanying the occupant of the office.
Its position never changes. It just sits there, painting the wall with a soft hue of blue and somehow they become accustomed with the sight of it.
The light that never dies down.
One long-living being fae and one normal human, foolishly decide on a separation, thinking it is the best thing for the two of them, despite desiring each other so bad. Years filled many unanswered questions, Flins finally gets his answers once the lantern slowly loses its warmth.
