El wasn't the only experiment that survived. 003 sadly did not escape until a year after El did. Upon escaping, 003 was admitted into a mental hospital for supposedly "being psychotic." Now 1987, the world is turning upside down (no pun intended) and El realizes she needs 003's help.

Dustin is restless. He graduated early from MIT just because there was nothing else to do. He receives an invitation to complete his PhD in Oxford and books it there as fast as he can. But England is pretty much just as boring as America. Until he sees Jane Hopper at his local grocery store. It's not really her, though. It can't be. Right?

Title from "Let Light be Light" by Lizzy McAlpine, a song that made me cry when I listened to it while writing this fic because it was so perfect for it.

Summary
Nothing ever happens in Hawkins. And yet, here they are.
Piper Scott and Nancy Wheeler have been best friends for years. Other-worlds, possesed kids, monster hunting, and government conspiracies keep them busy and traumatized. All while Piper is falling for her best friend's ex boyfriend, who is so off limits it hurts.
Steve Harrington does not know how he got into this mess, and how he keeps staying in this mess, but soon feelings develop in surprising places and he'll do anything he can to protect the people he loves.
