As one of the three, the inheritors of the Titans, his mother and everyone else had told him that Hades did not deign to gift his presence. He was a god among gods, and busy ruling a realm. Now he is busy gathering smaller shades close around his cloak, guiding. Leading.
Here he is, a greeting to just another batch of the wretched. Grantaire thinks of him in the clouds, a bead of ambrosia sliding down the perfect column of his throat as he throws his golden head back, grins at Zeus and Poseidon as one.

"What, and put such a magnificent bed to waste!" Grantaire exclaims, springing to his feet. He slips an arm about Enjolras’ waist and draws him close so Enjolras can feel the hardness in his trousers. "Come, boy mine, I have another gift for you."

Summary
The Barricades Rise tour starts in Ft. Lauderdale on one of those gorgeously mild days that only coastal Florida can produce. The sun is bright but the wind off the Atlantic is fresh and cooling. It’s not too humid, not too hot, especially as Grantaire takes the stage in the early evening. The sun is setting, wrapping the fairgrounds and the crowd in warm golden light. It’s damn near perfect.
It’s also one of the worst days of Grantaire’s entire life.
Probably the worst.

Some people see their colors instantaneously, the moment they touch their soulmate’s hand to shake exploding in bright blinding bursts all at once. Others never seen any colors at all. Most people, though, their colors fade in over time, slowly, bit by bit. They say it means something, the order of your colors, like you can learn something about your soulmate’s fundamental character whether you see the color red or blue first.
Grantaire thinks that’s a load of horseshit.
But then, he may well be one of those few that never see any color at all.

It's this first week of re-adjustment that Enjolras dreads, the week full of odd glances in the hall and of subtle reprimands from teachers who look at him like he's suffered some sort of irreversible fall from grace.
Grantaire would love that. If anything about this situation is concerning, it's that he's firmly resisted the opportunity to make a comment about Enjolras's burned wings or cracked halo.
