It wasn’t anything but what was in him that did it. Something in his chemical makeup. Flammable. Reactive. It was bound to be set off eventually. Maybe one day that pretty science teacher could tell him what it was.
Maybe he could take him apart and tell him just why everything made him fucking burn.

Driver flees from LA before pulling over to bleed out on some residential street in San Fransico. Unfortunately for him, a certain middle school science teacher just so happens to be coming out of his apartment at just the wrong time. All it takes is a few questions and a few well-intentioned lies before Dr. Grace is caught in the animal eye of this one very strange stranger.

Driver's mouth twitches, still not quite a smile. “You'll lose.”

Blue-eyes across the street was an innocent. What he was doing biking through this part of town this late at night, Driver couldn't know, but the look on his face made it clear that he had never been party to this kind of violence before. Not so close, anyway, not within screaming distance. He was scrawny, taller than Driver but easily subduable. And he was trembling.
In other words, he wasn't the kind of man that deserved what was coming to him. Most likely he deserved the opposite.
Or: Driver commits a crime, and Grace is the only witness. Driver gives chase.

Ryland swallows a whimper and looks into Court’s eyes, they are so clear right now it’s intimidating. Ryland nods his head, Court’s hand still gripping his cheeks.
“You hit me, as hard as you can, the second you don’t want this. Tell me you understand.” Court says seriously, eyes steady on Ryland.
Ryland nods his head and whispers “Yes” against Court’s palm.

Court’s nails scratch at Ryland’s scalp and he lets out an appreciative hum. Court tilts his head and offers, “Do you want to take a nap here?”
It’s only 2 in the afternoon, but it seems neither of them has any plans and the workout Court had planned to get started is easily forgotten.
Ryland makes a pouty face and his eyes drop, truly the most puppy-faced he’s given Court, who thinks it’s entirely unnecessary. Ryland could’ve asked him to kill someone and he’d do it before Ryland could turn those big eyes on him. So this is just overkill at this point.
“Yes, please.” Hook, “But could you…” Line, “Can we nap together?” Sinker.
