After all, the last thing he needs right now is suspicion, not after registering his quirk late and under... to put it charitably, unusual circumstances.

    Midoriya Izuku had been officially missing for two months before his body was found, charred and mutilated in a dumpster.

    Midoriya Inko was absolutely devastated, her precious Izuku was dead and she wasn't there for him.

    Bakugou Katsuki was destroyed as well. Izuku had been kidnapped while he was trying to save Katsuki. And Katsuki had been too trusting in the police and heroes because Izuku was dead.

    But what if Izuku's body was a fake?

    What if Izuku was tortured and imprisoned by the League of Villains for 5 months before he was able to make his escape.

    Now, Izuku is on the run with a quirk that he doesn't want and a whole lot of unchecked anger towards his past captors.

    They'll have hell to pay for the hell they put him through, he swears on it.

    Everything was going well for Izuku, he had a quirk, he was being tutored by his idol, he had a love life, he was in UA alongside his longtime friends, Jirou, Kirishima, Kaminari and Yaoyorozu.
    Everything was going good, until it wasn't.
    After being accused of cheating and rumours being sent around of other things he allegedly done, he was being watched like a hawk by the teachers.
    During one shitty day where Bakugou was overtly being a dick, he snapped and was subsequently expelled from U.A

    However a few weeks later criminals and villains are dropped on the doorstep of the police heavily beaten, the only thing they are able to recall is a green hood.

    The woman, radiating a special sort of gentleness that Izuku knew was there even without the assurance of her words, simply put a finger to his mouth, smiling slightly. Not the mocking smile or the pitying ones that he was used to, but something else that he wasn't familiar with at all.

    "Shush, young one. It doesn't do you well for your spirit to dampen." recited the lady, her voice as calm as a breeze. "Perhaps you do truly believe you are broken. Still, your resilience is admirable. I've been speaking in riddles after all."

    Her lips quirked upwards, her smile widening as if she remembered something nostalgic from the past

    "And after all- the Sanctum is a place where we fix broken things. In fact, one of our most promising students was once just like you."

    The woman stretched out her hand and for a brief moment, Izuku swore her eyes glowed with weight and wisdom beyond his very comprehension.

    "So, Izuku Midoriya- would you like to learn magic?"

    At age 10, he gives up on being a hero.

    Todoroki turns his head, placing his other cheek on Izuku’s curls, and Izuku can feel his poor heart skip a beat.

    “You’re more amazing, Midoriya,” Todoroki says, his words barely audible.

    “W-What do you mean?” Izuku blurts out stupidly, so close to fainting from overheating it’s not even funny anymore. Not that it was funny in the first place.

    “You always know the right thing to say,” Todoroki explains in a gentle voice, and Izuku can feel the words on him, from the place where Todoroki’s cheek is rubbing against his hair. It sends shivers down his spine and he goes still, the weight of his feelings striking him in this single moment, and he’s scared. He’s scared of how deep he’s falling.

    “It’s… It’s n-not that amazing.”

    “Trust me, it is,” Todoroki sighs softly. “It really is.”

    Izuku always wanted to be a hero. He didn't ask for depression, bullying and lost friendships. However, he never expected to suddenly gain a quirk, a friend that means so much more than a friend and a meaning to go on. Funny how high school changes people, right?
