    Summary

    “You are blooming,” says Viktor incredulously.

    “I thought I had something from the Undercity,” Jayce says, ragged. But no - blooming is the polite word for it, and he’s never heard of it outside of the gilded streets of Piltover. There’s a cure - an easy one - in Piltover. Cait had had it once, as a young teen, for a girl from House Ferros. She had taken three weeks of antibiotics the moment her cough had become bad and it had immediately subsided.

    Jayce could get to Piltover, but it’s been destroyed.

    “I’m going to die in this pit,” he rasps.

    (Or: Jayce contracts Hanahaki disease while stuck in the fissures. Viktor doesn't care, until he does.)

    Summary

    There are puddles idly squatting across the stone floor and white puffy weeds sprouting from the cracks. Jayce reaches out to pluck one, watching as the halo of white hair fluff blows off the stem, stolen by the wind and disappearing before his eyes and losing form and- and-

    And why does that sight fill Jayce with such terrible something?

    Following the end of season 2; Jayce wakes up in a Zaun market with an unfamiliar scar on his arm, unsure of where he came from. Powder is inspired by an old friend to work on a new invention, hopeful it can help her change her past. Viktor wakes up in a Piltover office with a weird stone, unsure of who he is. The butterfly effect, as it turns out, is beyond simply "universal."

    Summary

    “Worse than last time?” Jayce posits a guess.

    “It’s, eh-” Viktor shrugs. Tilts his chin this way and that. A tsk. “Bearable. I’ve endured worse hangovers in college.” he was going for a laugh, but the punchline never truly lands. Instead, Jayce’s thumb rubs softly into the back of his palm, pressing like he wants to idle the muscle mass into something new. It’s such a small thing, whatever this is, and yet it steadies the flow of his blood; the relief of loosening a valve, flicking off a pressure switch. It’s the necessary cracking-open of his breast. Jayce squeezes. Viktor allows himself the luxury of a sigh. “You shouldn’t be here.” he mutters.

    Jayce reflexively shakes his head. “I took the day off.”

    “We both know that’s-”

    “—I could take the week.” he insists, almost a threat, a flicker of that eternal stubbornness coursing through him.

    -

    Viktor longs for a soft place in which to bury his teeth.

    Summary

    As soon as Aubrey Thyme, psychotherapist, had opened her office door and seen her new client, Anthony J. Crowley, sitting in her waiting area, she was observing and assessing him. At first glance, she paid attention to the following:

    --His clothing was expensive and stylish;
    --He wore very strange but noticeable cologne;
    --His relationship to the seat he occupied could only, very loosely, be described as “sitting;”
    --He looked angry;
    --He was wearing sunglasses.

    What Aubrey Thyme, a professional, thought, upon first seeing her new client was: you’re going to be a fun one, aren’t you?
