Cruz Manuelos’ life is divided into two parts: before she knew someone wanted to kill her wife, and after.
The day of the division was a Tuesday in March.
Aaliyah was singing. Cruz wonders, after it all falls to pieces, if it was really a siren song, an ominous sign of what was to come. But in the before, her voice was only harmony.
She saw her through the fogged-up glass of the shower. Rays of sunshine came through the skylight, and her back was lit up and golden. Aaliyah opened the shower door. Her smile was serene, beckoning.
“Join me, my love.”
She got in behind her and rested her hands on her hips. Aaliyah turned in the sunshine and sang into her neck.
“My wife,” Aaliyah hummed against her skin.
This is it, she thought. Bliss.
It ended an hour later, when the world turned, spun, folded in on itself.

“It doesn’t matter. Want to know why?” Aaliyah points at her, her voice hissing as she steps into her space, hostility rippling in the lines of her brow.
She pushes at Cruz’s chest repeatedly, her words in sync with every movement. “I don’t—" shove, “want you—" shove, “anymore,” shove.
Cruz takes her hits. She is solid, absorbing it all without budging. Her resoluteness breaks Aaliyah open like a dam, and everything she’s been holding back comes pouring out in tears. Her palms continue to connect with Cruz’s body, desperately trying to push it all back in.
“I don’t want you,” she spits out all at once, her eyes blazing. Cruz isn’t sure, at this point, which one of them she is trying to convince.
Cruz grabs her wrists the next time they fly toward her chest. She steps into the puddle Aaliyah’s hair has dripped onto the tiles, easing her until her back hits the counter of the sink. She guides her arms down and settles her wrists against the granite, feeling them tremble beneath her fingers.
“No? Then why are you so upset?”

Years later, Cruz tracks Aaliyah down, only to find that she has moved on to someone else. Angst, tears, more tears, a triangle, and all the feelings ensue.

Earth was changed. For those who called the Ark home life was a constant battle between maintaining its systems and hoping that the Earth would one day become habitable again.
But after more than a century time was running out for the Ark and so one hundred volunteers were sent to the ground in the hopes of discovering if the Earth could sustain human life.
Lexa was amongst those volunteers. But what she discovered on the ground shook her beliefs to the core and set her on a path of life and death, love and hate.

Enter Lexa Woods, who has been tasked to watch over the very wild rock star. Finding a stubborn woman who was free-spirited had been nothing but a challenge for the disciplined security expert. Suffice to say that they were going to clash.
Clarke and Lexa will spend the whole tour together and in the process learning that they aren't so different after all. That maybe, they can find a common ground between being in the spotlight and the shadows, leaving both their hearts exposed, like an open wound.
