In 2014 Dream is fourteen-turning-fifteen and spends his days writing letters to Birdie, a boy who lives halfway across the world that he's never met, but knows understands him better than anyone.
In 2022 it's spring in Venice, and Dream is on the cusp of turning twenty three. It's April when he meets George, a complete stranger who knows nothing about him, but somehow convinces Dream to be his fake boyfriend in order to avoid the prospect of an arranged marriage, as well as rebel against his mother's relentless expectations. Shenanigans ensue.

Everything went quiet, the storm hanging in suspension as Tubbo stared into the abyss, and the abyss stared back. He dragged his eyes over her hollowed torso, counting the jagged scars splitting her womb open. She was L’Manburg, their fair lady drowned in the torrential rains of the end, and it seemed fitting that the only people who cared to bear witness to her now were a young man and his child.
